Proto/zilvere camera
In the 3th semester of my second school year. We got the assignment to make a journalistic documentary photo serie for the zilvere camera. We had to make 5 photos. We had the full about daylylife. I had my struggles with getting my concept. Because I was at home sick alot. This however ended up being my inspiration for what I made in the end.
10 series from all my classmates would be selected to be exhibited at PROTO ZWOLLE 2021. To my suprise my serie was one of the 10. It was definitely a confidence boost. The 10 finalists had to present it to a jury who would select the top 3. I didn't make it to the top 3. I didn't mind that much I never would have though to be in top 10 at first.
My serie
My photo serie " the battle with my health." Is about how I have been dealing with some health issues and I show case my symptoms in the most real possible way. The symptoms shown are: exhaustion, headaches and dizziness, muscles and joints aches, and sleeplessness. But I also show the mediation. Because the injections are part of my life now.
The experience
To be honest making a personal and real photo serie. Was a challange. For me this is how my life is. How do I show the struggles I got in the best way possible? Feedback gets way more personal and you want to make sure it tells the story you want to tell. I got more nervous about being selected and having to present it to a "Jury". Not because I needed too win. Just because it's about me.
I definitely learned alot from this experience and I'm very proud!
